A high-flying Whitchurch business is celebrating today after being crowned one of the world’s fastest-growing technology companies.

Tariff Reduction Services has been ranked 291st in the Deloitte Technology "Fast 500" league table for firms across dozens of countries in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

The company, based at Chester Road, has seen its business grow by a massive 354 per cent over a five-year period from 2001 to 2005. Figures were based on annual revenue totals.

It specialises in “cost containment” services - helping customers to reduce their operating costs by selecting the most appropriate suppliers in all kinds of areas, from fuel to telephone services.

Tariff Reduction Service’s sales director, Elizabeth Walmsley, pictured, said the company’s emphasis on customer service and ongoing staff development programme was a key factor in its success.

“The fact that we have been placed in the UK’s Fast 50 for the past four years running and this year have achieved a placement in the Fast 500 EMEA indicates the level of our growth and demonstrates the exponential success rate we hope to maintain.”

Eric Morgain, partner in charge of Deloitte’s Technology Fast 500 EMEA programme, said: “Making the Deloitte Technology Fast 500 is commendable in today’s highly competitive technology industry.

“We congratulate Tariff Reduction Services on being one of the 500 fastest growing technology companies in EMEA.”

The company finished 14th in the 2005 Deloitte Technology Fast 50, and was the only Shropshire firm to feature in the list.

A year earlier, it was even higher up the table in 10th place, after seeing its turnover grow by a massive 522 per cent in a five-year period.
