A kiss from TV personality Paul Ross and a coveted certificate were the rewards for Shropshire business woman Elizabeth Walmsley when her company was named one of the fastest growing in the country.
 
   

Tariff Reduction Services, based in Whitchurch, was invited to a glittering awards ceremony after being named one of the 50 fastest growing technology firms in the region for the fourth year in a row.


The company, based at Chester Road, finished 14th in the 2005 Deloitte Technology Fast 50, and is the only Shropshire firm to feature in the list.

Spokesman Ian Bowers said the rankings were based on average percentage revenue growth over five years, and his company had achieved a massive increase of just over 515 per cent.


“To achieve a top-50 placing for four years in a row is an incredible achievement, and we are particularly pleased when you consider the difficulties our industry sector has faced lately.


“We are extremely proud to be the only Shropshire company recognised in such a high profile league, and we will be working hard to ensure we maintain, and hopefully even improve our position in years to come.”


TRS is a “cost containment” company which helps customers to reduce their operating costs by selecting the most appropriate suppliers in all kinds of areas, from fuel to telephone services.

Owen Paterson, MP for North Shropshire, was in Whitchurch last month to congratulate Tariff Reduction Services on receiving the Investors In People award for the second time.

Based In Whitchurch, TRS initially attained the Investor In People standard in February 2002. The company was re-assed in March 2005 and once again has been awarded the Investors In People standard.

It has also been ranked as one of the Top 10 fastest growing companies in the Deloitte Technology Fast 50 awards for the Midlands region for the past three years.
